The Cell Ministry is based on Acts 2:46, where the early church gathered together in their homes. Cell meetings include praise & worship, Bible study, prayer and fellowship time. We have a number of different cell groups that meet at various times, days and locations. Each meeting lasts approximately an hour, to an hour and one-half.
Two areas included in the vision for Solid Rock Church are the ministry of the Word and the ministry of fellowship. The cell groups are a very important part in seeing both of these ministries working in the church. When believers get together in a small group setting, 6-10 people, it affords them a unique opportunity to form relationships with those within the group. Friendships develop and kindredness naturally occurs when Christians take time to sit down and have discussions around the Word of God.
Pastor Dan writes each outline for the Cell Ministries and the group leaders follow the given subject for that week. This is an easy way to have all of the groups studying the same topic during the same week. The leaders have freedom to emphasize whatever Scriptures the Lord speaks to them during their preparation time, but ultimately they use the outline and let the Lord lead them within the subject for that meeting.
The Cell Ministry is a wonderful way to plug into a church. There's a sense of belonging that comes quickly when you're involved in a home cell group. All of the church members are encouraged to get involved in the cells, but it is purely up to the individual as to whether they do or not.
